Dear Friends, we hasten to share with you a truly touching story of saving the life of one of our wards: Six years ago, in 2014, a six-month-old Nikita Lykov from the Leningrad Region was diagnosed with a malignant eye tumour. The doctor’s conclusion was horrible: "Recommended by the DGB 19 oncologist: enucleation (removal) of the right eyeball, additional examination and chemotherapy treatment at the N.N.Petrov Research Institute of Oncology." In order to save the child from the eye amputation mutilating surgery, the Whole World Foundation organized an urgent fundraising campaign in which sponsors, philanthropists, fundraisers, and hundreds of ordinary people were involved. As a result of the charity fundraising campaign for Nikita, we managed to raise more than 4 million rubles. All the funds were spent to pay for Nikita’s treatment at the Chaim Sheba Clinic in Israel. The treatment lasted more than 8 months. Israeli doctors managed to accomplish a real miracle and not only defeat the terrible diagnosis, but also save Nikita’s vision. Today, Nikita is healthy and feels great! The Whole World Charitable Foundation team is glad to receive good news from Lykov’s family and wants to share it with you. We wish Nikita good health and success and thank the #WholeWorld fundraisers for cooperation! |
